In the first quarter of 2024, Australian iOS users showed a keen interest in managing their personal finances through mobile applications. Data from Sensor Tower highlights the trends and performance of the top five budgeting and planning apps in the region.

WeMoney: Pay off debt faster experienced a fluctuating trend in revenue, peaking at around $8K in mid-January before descending to just over $1K by the end of March. Downloads also saw a downward trend, starting at approximately 10K in the first week of January and declining to 4K towards the end of March.

Buddy: Budget Planner App from Sweden showed a similar pattern, with revenue starting at $4.5K and falling to just above $1K by March's end. Downloads decreased from 5K to around 1.4K, while weekly active users began at 5.4K and gently dropped to 3.3K.

YNAB, short for You Need A Budget, saw its revenue peak at nearly $3K in late January, with a decline to around $1.2K by the close of March. The app's downloads remained relatively low, with the highest at 581 in early February and the lowest at 227 in the last week of March. Weekly active users hovered around 2K throughout the quarter.

Splitwise maintained a steady revenue stream, beginning at approximately $2.4K and ending the quarter just above $1K. Downloads were consistent, with a high of 4.9K in the first week of January, and active users remained strong, starting at around 19K and slightly decreasing to 17K by the end of March.

Lastly, EveryDollar: Personal Budget showcased modest revenue growth from $542 to $531 over the quarter. Downloads peaked at 726 in early February, then fell to 304 by the quarter's end. Weekly active users saw an increase from 2.8K in the first week to nearly 3.8K in the last week of March.
